The Birmingham Foundation is a private (independent) community-focused foundation dedicated to youth-oriented and human services grantmaking in South Pittsburgh.
The mission of the Birmingham Foundation is to “serve as a change agent for improved health and wellness in South Pittsburgh through the dynamic use of resources such as grantmaking, information-sharing, partnering and leveraging of assets.”
The Birmingham Foundation was created with the assets from the sale of South Side Hospital. Our target area includes 12 communities, among which are Allentown, Arlington, Beltzhoover, Carrick, Knoxville, Mt. Oliver, Mt Washington, St. Clair Village and the South Side (zip codes 15203, 15210 and 15211).
