The Birmingham Foundation provides funding for initiatives that fit into one of our three focus areas:
Focus #1: Improving Youth Outcomes
We support programs that instill character-building skills in South Pittsburgh’s children and young adults that can lead to self-sustainability now and throughout life and, at the same time, prevent violence to and by the youth of our communities.
Focus #2: Safety Nets
We value programs that aim to ensure that residents of South Pittsburgh, particularly children, their parents and caretakers, have access to basic necessities essential to not only survive, but thrive, including good food and nutrition, reliable shelter and quality healthcare.
Focus #3: Strategy for Neighborhood Development
We are interested in proposals that aim to ensure that all neighborhoods in South Pittsburgh are provided with the building blocks to become, and remain, stable, viable and safe communities for current and future generations.
